Choi Sooyoung, a member of Korea’s all-time top girl group, is set to make her big screen debut in the upcoming drama series “Second Shot at Love.” Following her roles in dramas like Run On and most recently, Not Others, she’ll be paired opposite the charismatic Gong Myung, a former member of 5URPRISE who’s currently on the rise thanks to her roles in the dramas Lovers of the Red Sky and Way Back Love. This drama is sure to captivate drinking fans, as Sooyoung’s character, who grew up in a family of true drinkers, has earned her the nickname “the woman who drinks more than men.”
Choi Soo-young plays “Han Geum-joo,” a talented woman who has worked at a top Korean engine company for over 10 years. She is a master of engines. But in addition to being good at her job, she is also good at socializing and partying. Growing up in a family that loved to drink, she often enjoyed alcoholic beverages. To the point where people in her society started to brand her as an “alcoholic,” Geum-joo decided to bid adieu to the drinking world for good. Meanwhile, Gong Myung plays “Seo Yi-joon,” a young doctor who used to be a specialist at a famous medical university hospital in Seoul. He decides to bid farewell to the capital and return to his hometown for unknown reasons. He transfers to a rural health center in Bocheon. Lee-joon is both Geum-joo’s friend and first love. It doesn’t take long for the two to meet again when the woman who loves to drink reunites with the young doctor who hates alcohol. How far will her plan to officially quit drinking go?
