India launches attacks on Pakistan in retaliation for tourist massacre; Pakistani army vows revenge
Foreign news agencies reported that the Indian army launched a special operation against Pakistan early Wednesday morning in retaliation for the brutal massacre in Kashmir’s Pahalgam city, attacking nine terrorist targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The defence ministry said the operation, codenamed Operation Sindoor, targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, where terrorist attacks against India are planned and orchestrated.
Meanwhile, Pakistani authorities have vowed to respond to “vicious provocations” by India in nine locations along the border, with India saying the attacks were carried out in three locations.
Pakistani military spokesman Lieutenant General Ahmad Sharif Chawthri said India’s missile attacks on Kotli, Bahawalpur and Muzaffarabad after midnight were “cowardly attacks”. He added that Pakistan would retaliate at a time and place of its own choosing and that this grave provocation would not go unanswered.
